Remember Joe Nedney's brief, but successful, acting career?
We at The Terrible Blog do too.
- Now: Pens are getting rocked right now 5-1 at the second intermission against Toronto. I've watched about half of it and it seemed like 3 or 4 shots from the Leafs for each of the Pens one. (Insert an opinion here where I pretend like I know why a hockey team is bad on a given night .. use the terms forechecking and backchecking properly ... thank you.) They don't look good.
- How important is the Steelers game? I know the Steelers aren't naive enough to believe Jeff Fischer's silent propaganda (in actions, not words) that the Titans are in shut down mode and resting up for the playoffs. In fact, the Steelers are the better equipped of the two to go on the road and win if it gets to the AFC Title game one day. While it would be lovely to have the #1 seed, let's not kid ourselves about this game being as important as last week -- the difference between being a Wild Card team and a Division winner with a bye is miles apart from the difference between #1 and #2.
- Pick up the ESPN and SI's this week if you like the covers (see below), but don't do it for the stories. SI has an average story that talks about the Steelers and Ravens. The best piece in either is a sidebar that explains the zone blitz. As usual, don't expect much from ESPN the magazine. It's just a weird verbatim interview with some defensive players and what they think about the future offenses. Believe me, its even worse and more convoluted than it sounds.
More after the jump...
- It's funny how fast teams turn on their quarterbacks. (And let's not act like we're different. I heard people rumbling about Leftwich providing a "spark" in the past couple weeks) Tennessee won't have Vince Young behind center, but earlier in the week, I was going to predict that we see Vincent in a package or two -- that was, until I heard everyone saying the same thing, and then it didn't seem like much of a prediction anymore.
- @ the recent Steelers media blitz....no biggie. I think it was just good timing. The Steelers got the biggest win in the NFL at the right time -- bowl game lull, nothing big in college and NBA hoops and no huge controversies. It's nice, but don't get used to it. Someone else gets the chance to be darlings this Monday. My guess? Carolina.
- I Hate You Comcast/NFL Network Update: Dallas is up 7-3 in the first quarter. While I couldn't care less about the Cowboys, I'm torn as to whether I want the Ravens to win. Yeah, leaving them at home would be nice. But the Ravens out very likely means the Pats get in. If all fell into place, would you rather see the Ravens again or have Belichick march back into Heinz? I'm still not sure.
