I'm out of words. The Pittsburgh Bucs Baseball Club agreed Wednesday to pay Adam LaRoche $7 million dollars in order to avoid arbitration. Wonder how much camo and ammo that'll buy?
Adam LaRoche, you know him. Plays first base for the Pirates, although not usually until after the All-Star break. Adam LaRoche, great white hunter. Can hit a buck from 200 yards, can't hit a curveball from 60 feet six inches.
Perhaps Adam and Opie had a special agreement that Buc season extends to spring training, and any Bucs he shoots (preferably from the pitching staff), he can keep.
What really hurts is that the Yankees agreed to a $5.5 million deal with the departed Xavier Nady. Nady who plays all season, unfortunately is represented by Scott Boras -- agent for Buccos pick Pedro Alvarez. Fat Pedro reported to mini camp this week out of shape.
Looks like alls well in Mayberry...
