Goddamn was the last 4 minutes or so of the Penguins/Canes game from last night hard to watch. For those lucky enough NOT to see it, the Pens were down 2-1 with 4:30 left in the game and Geno gets cross checked in his mouth.
To quote Bob Errey, "Malkin bit down on the stick".
Gross, but none the less it drew blood.. more gross.. and the Canes were given a 4 minute double minor, to END THE GAME. Well, no happy ending here.. as this 4 minute powerplay pretty much sums up the first half of the Pens season.. a sad, morale destroying failure.
Granted, Canes goalie Cam Ward played out of his mind.. but the Pens just couldn't get it going. And get it going they should have, as they are now in 10th PLACE IN THE EASTERN CONFERENCE at the All-Star break. 10th. What the what?
A change MUST HAPPEN.. be it personnel, coaching, or game plan. How was this team's core the same team who was in game 6 of the Stanley Cup finals last season? They do not even deserve to squeak in and get swept by the Bruins at this point.
Christ I must have woken up on the wrong side of the bed.. what I woke up to after the jump-a-rooney.
So word on the street is Hines Ward will be a-oh-boy to play in the Superbowl. This is from the coach's mouth.. and with the way he talks, I always end up believing everything he says, so I'm sold.
Also, before the WIWUT links, please take a second if you haven't already, to vote in the polls on the left side of the page. I am more interested in your Superbowl viewing habits. I already know three of our readers are actually going to Tampa, they just haven't voted on the site yet.. I for one will be at my local bar.. and by local I mean 32 miles away, Fanattics in Squirrel Hill. And for those who know me, I have quite the surprise that day. You will see and you will LOVE IT.

I have a whole column worth of points, but I get so pissed when people trash Ben because he doesn't have sick numbers.. well guess what? Drew Brees never beat anyone and both Mannings are golfing..
